Daltco Electric Gives Back to the Community

Kingston, ON-October 31st, 2017 - On September 30th, 2017, Daltco Electric gave back to the Brockville community and in doing so lived up to its designation as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. In a newly forged partnership with the United Way, thirty-five employees and family members of Daltco Electric’s Kingston, Brockville and Ottawa branches spent a Saturday morning volunteering for the Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health Centre in Brockville for a few hours of outdoor labour to beautify the common courtyard space. This project was undertaken as an inaugural volunteer event to enhance Daltco Electric’s commitment to community service on an ongoing basis through company initiatives.

President of Daltco Electric, Peter Dalton was thrilled so many of Daltco Electric’s employees gave up part of their weekend to volunteer their time in the community.

“It was heartwarming to see so many of our employees and their families making a great effort to help the Mental Health Centre. This was a great example of how organizations can give back to their communities and foster a sense of pride amongst their employees.”  - Peter Dalton-President, Daltco Electric

Laurie Dubé, CEO from Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health Centre expressed her thanks in a letter to Daltco Electric for their efforts and generosity.

“…we are very fortunate to be a benefactor of your generous call to the United Way of Leeds and Grenville to provide a community project for your staff. We are very fortunate that your staff travelled from Ottawa and Kingston on a Saturday morning, with shovels, rakes and chainsaws to provide a morning of hard labour. As if this wasn’t enough they didn’t leave until they had planted flowers and bulbs for our clients and staff. Words are not enough!” – Laurie Dubé

The company hopes to organize at least one volunteer company event on an annual basis to support the communities where their branches are located and foster a strong sense of corporate citizenship amongst its employees.
